Bryan,

Madame Pink has read the tea leaves, and she predicts great success
for some person named Earl Grey... Madame Pink has gazed into the
crystal, and she is very enthusiastic about the future of Swarovski...
Madame Pink has consulted the spirits, and she thinks she'll have just
one more sip before the pub closes...

Regarding the clever webpage that you've mentioned, there's nothing
psychic about it. Probably nothing psychotic, either, but I'm not
totally certain about that. ;-)

Your answer will always be a multiple of nine.

Notice that, in every table of numbers and symbols that is displayed,
all numbers that are multiples of 9 (up to 81, which is the maximum
number possible, given the rules of the puzzle) are assigned the same
symbol. When you do the puzzle again, the symbols are shuffled around,
but the numbers 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, and 81 will still all
be represented by a common symbol.

Here's a good explanation of why the answer will always be a multiple of nine:

Another discussion of the puzzler:

I hope this helps to put your mind at ease about the paranormal
capabilities of a webpage. If the fellow who created that site were
truly psychic, wouldn't he be in Las Vegas piling up the moolah,
rather than noodling around for free on the Internet?

Best,
Madame Pink (knows all, tells some)

Dear Pink

You never did transform the 5 Stars into a Constellation.

Is it too late?

Dear Bryan,

With only five stars to work with (and purple ones, at that), my
constellation is a bit sketchy. The ancient GARs looked up at the
night sky and saw this smallish batch of stellar riffraff and called
it 'pinkfreud (the researcher)'. If they'd cocked their heads slightly
in one direction or the other, they might well have named it 'Bonzo
(the chimpanzee)' or 'IKEA (the coffee table)' or, rather
unimaginatively, 'rhomboid collection of purple twinkling things'.

Wow, Madame Pink, I always knew that you were amazing but now
EVERYBODY can see for themselves!

Yes, it's all SO simple, after you have exposed the trick.

Now, for your next trick, please transform these meagre 5 Stars into
the Constellation that you truly deserve.

Well? ..... I'm waiting .....

All the Best

Bryan

Bryan and Pink,

This is the epitome of one of those questions where: "I wish I had said that".

I had worked the numbers 9 and the changing hieroglyphs .. hey I was getting there!

Bryan,

Many thanks for the five-star constellation and the large tip! I am
always so glad to debunk alleged psychic phenomena that some have said
that I am amazingly randy.
