I cannot read Japanese so cannot check if the sites listed on this
page have what you want
http://home.att.net/~edwardchang/language/japanese.htm A search on
the transliterated titles did not give me any results. Perhaps
another researcher will have better luck.

You can use http://world.altavista.com/
for any japanese pages you come across.

Hi alien,

I'm a bit leery of using Babelfish except as an extra assistant in
languages in which I have some knowledge already. More to the point,
in this case, I'm not sure it would help anyway, because dhramabum has
given us a transliteration (ie a representation of the sounds of the
original words) rather than a translation of what they mean. In order
to see whether the site I mentioned has relevant information, I would
need to know what Yakogyo and Busshi Hatsunehan Ryaku
Setsu Kyokaikyo look like when written in Japanese characters, since I
do not have their meaning in translation. Babelfish will not give me
that information.

I read a little Japanese, but I don't know much at all about Buddhism,
so I'm not sure how much I can help with this specific query.

I found a link which might help you, though, Tehuti. I was able to
find a page which lists Buddhist terms in both English and Japanese
Kanji:
http://libweb.uoregon.edu/asia/dicts/bdict/jpindex.htm

For instance:
hatsunehan
http://libweb.uoregon.edu/asia/dicts/bdict/data/13704822C.htm#%94%CA%9F%B8%9E%CF
ryaku
http://libweb.uoregon.edu/asia/dicts/bdict/data/102067565.htm#%97%AA

Setsu has several entries, so it depends on which meaning is sought. I
could not find Yakogyo, Kyokaikyo, or Busshi.

Dhramabum, can you give us any additional info on these sutra titles?
Maybe an approximate English translation, or a scan of the kanji
they're written with? Or a portion of the chant? Can you check to make
sure you've got the correct spelling/romanization for them?

Sorry to ask so many questions, when we're supposed to be the ones
answering, but this question will be a tough one for those who are not
familiar with Japanese buddhism.

Hopefully some other researcher can figure this one out!

Yakogyo is ?

"Busshi Hatsunehan Ryakusetsu Kyokaikyo" is the formal name (very
difficult to read and remember) and this sutra is usually/commonly
called as "Yuikyo-gyo (Yuikyo-kyo)" or "Butsu-Yuikyogyo," all
literally mean that the last words/teachings of Buddha on his death.

Some words from the sutra are listed on a page, in Japanese:

You can locate pages with "Busshi Hatsunehan Ryakusetsu Kyokaikyo" in
