How much time do you have? What kind of hat is it? If it doesn't have
a stiff brim, then just soak it overnight in bleach and water. If it
has a stiff brim, just wet it with the bleach-water mix and leave it
in the sun to dry. You might have to do that a few times.

I tied mine to a tree with a long chain and left it on the beach for a
couple of weeks. The tide came and went and the sun beat down on it.
Looked very cool after a while. Don't know if you're anywhere near a
suitable place but try it if you are...

How about on the parcel shelf of a car, the glass will accelerate the process.

Wash it, wash it, wash it... Whenever you do your laundry, wash it.
Then when you're all done washing it, put it outside, or in a window,
or in the sun. Keep it in a very hot environment too. When you wash it
don't use the brand Tide or other brands that specifically keep color
in. That's how I fade my stuff.
