I have lost the manual for setting the time on my CASIO ALARM CHRONO watch.
Can anyone assist me?

Perhaps I can. Do you have the exact model name and number? For
example, my Casio G-Shock Gaussman watch has the model number AW-571.
Look on the back of your watch case for something similar.

The markings on the back are:

1846 W-71

On the front it also reads:

I haven't found an exact match for that model number, but I have a
hunch I know the watch you're talking about. I used to have one very
similar to it. Does yours resemble the following image?

More to the point, does it have two buttons on each side, perhaps with
the upper left one recessed into the case?

Yes the image looks like the one.

Please try the procedure I describe below. If your watch is anything
like mine was, this is how you set the time.

Let us name the buttons on each side of the watch in the following fashion.

        left side right side
        --------- ----------
upper button: ADJUST upper button: LIGHT
lower button: MODE lower button: START/STOP

1. Firmly press the ADJUST button and hold it down until the large
digits in the display start flashing.

2. Press the MODE button once. The hour digit(s) should now be
flashing. Use the START/STOP button to advance the hour to the correct
time, noting carefully whether it is morning or afternoon. Pressing
START/STOP briefly should advance the reading by one unit. Repeat as
many times as necessary.

3. Press the MODE button again. Now the minute digit(s) should be
flashing. Again, use START/STOP to advance the minutes to the correct

4. Press the MODE button again. Now the seconds should be flashing.
Pressing START/STOP should reset them to zero. Wait until the
appropriate moment to do so.

5. Pressing the MODE button again will take you through the other
items you can set on your watch. I can't be sure what these are
without knowing exactly what model you have, but you will probably be
able to set the month, day, and perhaps the am/pm format. Once you
have cycled through all possible settings, you should again reach the
point where the main display digits are flashing in unison. You may
now press ADJUST to confirm the newly set time and leave adjustment

Do let me know whether these steps work for you! If they are not quite
right, perhaps some minor adjustment will suffice.

There is no answer at this time.

Try holding in the Mode button for 3 seconds. If it takes you to a
display where either the time or the date is flashing then press one
of the other buttons (it will either change the currently flashing #
or move you to another # to change that one).
Best of luck, those watches are obnoxiously hard to figure out sometimes.
