Hello Donkee,

<What is the cost per square foot to build a custom home in North
Brevard County, Florida?>

The Building-Cost.net calculator tool will provide you with the
precise information you require.

The numbers used in this calculator are from the National Building
Cost Manual.

Here?s the direct link to the calculator

http://www.building-cost.net/

?In about 5 minutes you can develop a home construction or replacement
cost that considers all the important variables: materials used,
design features, quality, size, shape, heating, cooling and geographic
area. Your printed estimate shows detailed labor and material costs
for each of 34 construction cost categories. Plus, it's FREE!?

Click on ?Start Calculator?

You will be asked to fill in the following information:

- Number of corners
- Square footage
- Total living area

?Exclude from the living area any garage, basement or attic. In
addition, exclude any porch that's not under the main roof. Costs for
these will be figured separately.?

- Quality
Class 1 (Best)

- Additional structures
Is there an attic, balcony, basement, garage or exterior porch?

- Housing tract or custom home?

Where is this home being built?

?Homes built in housing tracts by merchant builders and homes built in
suburban (but not remote) areas tend to cost less than custom homes
built in well-developed metropolitan areas.?

- Rural or metropolitan area

- Type of heating and cooling used in the house

Then you can adjust the construction costs based on your area of building.

- State and zip code

"After filling in all the variables of your home, you will obtain a
detailed report with the materials building costs. You will also
obtain labor and equipment costs."

Just divide the total cost of building materials, labor and equipment
costs by the total living area to get the cost per square foot.

To answer this question, the best someone can do is to ask you a few
more questions about your planned level quality in the house and the
types of plumbing, electrical fixtures, floor coverings, appliances,
windows, wall coverings etc. For example, in the Northern Neck of
Virginia east of Fredericksburg, the costs range from a bare bones,
low end of $80 per square foot on up. Most likely range is $100-125
per square foot at the present unless you get extravagent.

One wild card is how much the post hurricane repairs will drive up the
cost of skilled labor and materials.

One idea is to go to the court house in your county of interest or
grab a high end realtor and check actual prices paid and do the
calculations per square foot.

Good luck.
