Recently I heard a radio commentator cite a source which states that
the most common name among serial killers/death row inmates is
"Wayne". He also went on to list approximately 25 names of said
individuals. I would like to retrieve that source and list. Thank you.

I believe the radio commentator's source was Chuck Shepherd's "News of
the Weird," a weekly syndicated newspaper column. Chuck Shepherd, with
the help of submissions from readers, has for ten years been compiling
a list of killers who have the middle name "Wayne." I must say that
the size of this list boggles my not-easily-boggled mind.

The list itself is copyrighted, so I cannot post it here, but you'll
find it on the News of the Weird website:

News of the Weird: The Classic Middle Name

I'm a fan of News of the Weird, so my Google search strategy involved
a site search on the NOTW website for the word "Wayne." As luck would
have it, the first hit turned out to be a page which contained the
infamous list.

Chuck Shepherd's claim notwithstanding, one can not copyright an
alphabetical list of facts in the United States, as established in the
Supreme Court case Feist v. Rural
