I'd like to find a woman to marry and have many (4-12) children with.
I'm not religious, and though I wouldn't mind getting involved with
someone religious I'm not sure it would be appropriate for me to join
a church just to meet girls. I live in Cambridge, MA, not a region
known for it's high fertility. I'd be willing to correspond with
someone from far away before meeting them in person. I'd prefer
someone from the US but would be open to someone from overseas.
What's the best way to go about my search? Is internet dating the way
to go, and if so, where is it best to place and add or search adds?
Should I try newspaper adds? Should I think about moving to rural
Utah?

Consider trying an online dating service, Eharmony and Match.com are some big ones.

You should only move to Utah if you seriously wouldn't mind becoming a Mormon.

Seriously.

You want 4-12 kids???
Are you sure?

Good luck with your search for a woman who is willing to have that many kids.

Where are you located?

If your main goal is passing along your DNA to the next generation,
you might want to give serious consideration to becoming a sperm
donor.

2 kids for me :) get past that where the kids outnumber the parents
and things can get ugly.

I have always admired parents who have alot of kids and have time for
all of them. It definately takes a special breed of parents to pull
it off well.

You might want to reconsider 12.

Find a woman with lots of brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles. She'll
be more accustomed to large families and likely to be more amenable to
having a large brood herself.

Move to Quebec,Canada they have huge families there, especially in

Convert to Roman Catholicism and go to church? I'm actually serious
about that suggestion. Two of my nephews were raised Roman Catholic,
and when I went to one's wedding in 1995, I was quite surprised to
hear, in their traditional marriage service, the priest include the
phrase, "open to children" to which my nephew and his wife both
acquiesced. Now married 9 years, they have three children, and would
certainly have had more were it not for an aneurysm (or something like
that - a weak spot in a blood vessel in her brain) my niece
experienced shortly after the birth of their youngest child. At that
time doctors ordered her to have no more children because the risk of
death was too great. However, she has since been treated for the
condition, and last I heard they got the go-ahead to have more kids if
they want. So I'm half-expecting any day now to hear another
announcement of an impending offspring.

This does illustrate that there are still those in the Catholic Church
who do not believe in artificially limiting the number of children, so
if you're at all inclined to be religious, why not take an inquirer's
class at your local Catholic church and see what happens?

Good luck.

omg!
You can marry me! :)
although i have already started on the kids thing.
i have 4 kids. i am only 25 so i have got plenty more time ahead of me.

I find that people think i am CRAZY for wanting lots of children.
So maybe try an institution- jokes.

Good luck with your search thou.
I think you will just have to meet the right girl..

Also an insight for you to the thoughts of the girl- A potential
responsible mother would want to insure that the father is financially
stable but is also around the home to provide emotional stability too.
No use in having the money if the sacrifice is no father, and no use
in having a father around all the time if there is no money to provide
adequate care for the kids.

Looking for a gal with a large family is a good idea. Also seriously
consider posting an online dating ad, and including the idea that
you'd like a large family. You may feel silly, but hey! I met my
husband via such an ad :)

Try taking a train from Philadelphia toward D.C. I hear girls on
amtrak are smart, beautiful, and have their phone numbers online.
They tend to want to have 4 kids, but that's a good start, since they
will give you the opportunity to convince them for more. Oh, and they
are definitely are not Mormon! Plus they think you are an amazing
guy!
