The Wedding Present's single "Nobody's Twisting Your Arm" has a striking picture on the front: http://web.inter.nl.net/hcc/C.A.Severien/images/sleeves/nobodys.gif Where did the picture originally come from? Is it a film or something? |

I can't answer this question fully, but as a WP fan it did interest me greatly. I can tell you it is not from a film, but is in fact an artist's photograph. According to the Scopitones Wedding Present/Cinerama forum: (http://www.scopitones.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=775) "1. It's not from a movie, it is an actual photograph by an actual artist. 2. That artist had a vaguely scandanavian sounding name 3. the same photograph was featured in a comic or graphic novel as a poster/print in the background of a room scene." |

I have found the answer to this after thirteen years of curiosity. Issue 6 of the _Invasion of the Wedding Present_ newsletter republished on the www.somethingandnothing.net TWP fan website contained the information I wanted. The photograph was by a Swedish photographer called Pål Nils Nilsson. He was a contributer to the famous _Family of Man_ photographic exhibition. Thanks are due to Martin Smith, one of the fan site administrators, for pointing me in the right direction. |
