Below you can find a link to a demo that demonstrates the layout
problem I am having.

In short, when you click on the first node things go nuts, its easy to
see for yourself.  If you are not seeing this, a sample screen shot is
also linked to below.

I'd like an explanation on the IE quirk that causes this, and how to
program around it (either through modifying the page with js, or the
html itself that wont cause the problem to arise).  Note, that this
works fine in firefox/mozilla, and I've only verified that it
misfunctions in IE6 on WinXP, as thats my development computer.
