Question ID: 48014
Do any of the following celebrities have Eurasian (refering to a mixed
European and Asian ethnic background, not meaning from the Eurasian
subcontinent) ancestry?

Julia Stiles: Was accompanied to the 2000 MTV Movie Awards by an
Asian looking woman and young girl who I assumed were her mother and
sister, however in every interview I have read she refers to herself
as "white."

Jimmy Fallon (Saturday Night Live)
Joey Lauren Adams (Mallrats, Biodome, Chasing Amy)
Shannyn Sossamon (40 Days and 40 Nights, A Knight's Tale)
Vanessa Carlton (pop singer)
Joseph Gordon-Levitt (3rd Rock from the Sun)
Brooke Burke (E!'s Wild On)
Sydney Penny (Hyperion Bay)

Since I do not have enough information for all the people in your
list, I'm going to post what I know.

Julia Stiles: no. She is of Irish, Italian, and Irish heritage. Her
mother, Judith Stiles, was was an artist, working in ceramics, and ran
a ceramics store in Greenwich Village.
Shannyn Sossamon: YES. born in Hawaii, mixture of French, Hawaiian,
Dutch, Irish, Filipino and German. (maternal grandmother is Hawaiian
and Filipino, maternal grandfather is English and German)
Brooke Burke: No. Father is French/Irish and mother is
Sydney Penny: No. Hungarian, Scotch-Irish, French, English, and
Cherokee ancestry.

For the others, I have exhausted my efforts with no success. Most
likely they're not or else it would have been mentioned.
Note that Joey Lauren Adams has Southern parents.

Would you accept this as an answer?

I don't want to sound harsh or ungrateful, but I'm not quite satisfied
yet. I'm not sure that the information I'm looking for can be found
entirely online, but I want to exhaust every possibility before I give

Have you found any references to the Asian woman who was with Julia
Stiles at the MTV Movie Awards? Maybe it was her agent?

One possibility is that some of these performers don't acknowledge
their Asian heritage for fear of being confined to "Asian" roles, so
that information may not be readily accessible. For example, actress
Jennifer Tilly confirmed her Chinese heritage only recently.

I suspected Joey Lauren Adams as having Asian blood after an
appearance on The Late Show with Craig Kilborn. Instead of her usual
dyed blonde hair, she wore her natural dark brown color. She also had
quite a tan at that time. She looked incredibly Asian. I think she
also wears blue contact lenses.

I'm not sure what kind of clarification you're asking for. If you
need more information please let me know.

From SNL's Mother's Day special:
Jimmy Fallon's mother does look a bit Asian.

I looked at these pictures and she doesn't really look Asian to me. I
wonder what his father looks like. Maybe his father's half Asian or
something? Or maybe it's just a fluke that he looks Asian...?
