The National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities published
the following statistics regarding the number of pharmacies in Canada.

National Statistics 

As of January 1, 2002, there were 26,273 licensed pharmacists in
Canada, and 8,080 accredited pharmacies as follows:

National Pharmacist/Pharmacies Statistics 2002

Total Licensed Pharmacists 26,526

Pharmacies:	 

Community Pharmacies  7,196

Hospital Pharmacies Accredited by Licensing Body: 889

Total Licensed Pharmacies:   8,085

270 pharmacies operate over the Internet

According to the 2004 Health Canada Fact Sheet, of the "over 7,000
pharmacies in Canada, approximately 270 operate either strictly over
the Internet or through a combination of traditional methods and
Internet pharmacy and/or distance-dispensing, such as mail order.?
