Hello,

I?m interested in building a web site to provide recruitment services.
Some of these services are automated, others are human assisted. I
would like to run this service for free for a couple of years and then
move to a commercial version when these services mature and the user
community increases to the required critical mass for the move to a
commercial service to be justifiable.

I?m going to focus on simplicity and automation as well as proper
categorization of people based on their skills and personalities using
some easy to implement method that you may suggest.

I would also like to know what are the most important services and
features, for candidates and hiring companies, not to mention
recruitment agencies and service providers such as Resume Writers.

I?m also interested in a high level idea for a referral program where
people would make money for listing jobs and those whom list
candidates.

If you can reference web sites that are exemplary for as many elements
as possible, that would be appreciated. The elements are Interface,
method, content, features and marketing.

Please ask for clarification if the scope is vague.

Thank you.

Hi 6ra3-ga!

Just to be sure... are you looking for the following? (Let us break
this down to little components)

a. List of features by Major job sites. Maybe we can do this for 4 big
sites like Monster or Hotjobs.

b. Do you require original ideas ofr the other services like referral
types? This could be difficult since probably most do not have
experience in this industry.

If I can get a good lead after you answer some of these questions,
maybe I can provide some info.

Thanks!

Hi,

a. Yes, four major sites would be suitable.

b. There're many ways to encourage the growth of the site, referrals
of requiters, candidates and employers should be rewarded.. Would like
your ideas or those you can come across.. a fair effort would be fine.
:-)

Hi! Thanks for the question.

I am dividing my answer into three parts. Part one focuses on the
different features by four popular job sites categorized into two
sections one catered to job hunters and the other to employers. The
second part meanwhile provides for website enhancement ideas that you
can provide to attract more users. Finally, my answer provides website
marketing ideas. Some ideas may not necessarily be new or
revolutionary but are elements that I feel can be of great help in
promoting your site.

IDEAS: WEBSITE FEATURES

JOB HUNTER FEATURES:
- Company Feature Background: Companies participating in your job
sites will be researched by your staff and background information for
interview purposes will be available to job hunters after they?ve been
invited for an interview. This will be available for a fee.

- Telephone or Virtual Interview Practice with Real Person: This will
show in what aspect of the interview session where such person needs
extra help.

- Successful Applicant Follow-up: When an applicant was successful in
finding a job from your service, he or she will be constantly be
updated through email about current salary ranges in the applicants
industry, employment trends and possible opportunities from other
companies. This service will not be mere automatic submission but a
real personal guide catered to the specific person.

- Relocation Help: Instead of just providing relocation tips, you can
actually provide assistance with partnering with companies that
provide this service.

EMPLOYERS FEATURES:
- Partner with specialized trade publications and also post jobs there
to get a more targeted set of applicants.

- Provide Payment Facilities for their Telecommute Employees

- Tracking of the Top Graduates in Desired Universities and Degrees.
Example an employer can request information for the top honor students
in major universities according to specific degrees.

-------------------------------------
IDEAS: MARKETING OF THE SITE

1. Affiliate or Referral Programs:
I was able to find the different affiliate program models that can be
used for your website. Here are some strategies you can use to get new
employers and job seekers.

a. ?Barnes & Noble with its MybnLink program recently implemented
email links into their affiliate program. With the MybnLink program,
affiliates add a link to their email, and they can designate one of
five national charities to receive their earnings, or they can keep
them for themselves.?

? In this example your registered job hunters can establish a link to
their email if someone clicks on that link, the job hunter will have
money or points he or she can use to pay for your specialized
services.

b. ?Another twist on the affiliate fundraiser model is utilized by
4charity.com. Shop at any of 4charity.com's 140+ stores and a
percentage of the purchase price is donated to the charity of your
choice. ?

? This will be a good cause marketing program for the employers.
Whenever they made a fellow employer register and post jobs at your
site, the referring employer will get money or points and assign them
to their favorite charity.

?This Year's Affiliate Marketing Model??
http://www.affiliatemanager.net/article6.shtml

c. ?DealPilot.com's difference from other pay-per-click programs is
that you DO NOT receive a commission when your visitors click through
from your site to the DealPilot.com web site. Instead, you earn
commissions when a visitor you refer to DealPilot.com performs a
search for a product, and then clicks through to one (or more) of the
merchant sites. In other words, you earn commissions when you refer a
visitor THROUGH DealPilot.com to one of their partner merchants.?

? You can use this method this way. When a job hunter refers a person
to your site, every time he makes a search and applies to a company,
he can earn points. Once he earns enough points, he can exchange it
for your specialized services like personalized resume writing or
order corporate background reports.

2. Message Boards

?One of the simplest ways of getting targeted traffic in to your
website is by chatting online with other people from around the world.
It?s easy. It?s free. And it takes just a small amount of time each
week to produce remarkable results.?

?A message board is a place on the web where users post and read
announcements on topics of common interest. Users interact with other
users on the message board by submitting a form with their message,
allowing the message to be posted directly to the board itself for all
to see.?

http://www.workz.com/content/view_content.html?section_id=464&content_id=6755

3. Email Newsletters:

?Custom publications normally target a company's current customers,
clients or prospects.?

?One software consulting firm teamed up with a leading marketing
publication to sponsor a series of seminars that discreetly promoted
its services by using speakers from its clients to present mini case
studies. The proceedings provided the consulting firm with the basis
of sponsored supplements that were stitched into the publication
that's read by the exact business prospects the firm wanted to reach.?

- You can also use this for your job site by partnering with a
marketing firm and make your successful job hunters and also employers
as speakers providing case studies on how they used your site to find
the right fit for their business or career.
