This is for a poor church that has beautiful wooden floors and
beautiful crimson carpet that has bees wax droplets all over it.

What is the best/cheapest way to smooth out a LARGE square footage
ScRaTcHeD wooden floor and get out wax drops on industrial strength
short hair crimson carpet?

I'm guessing one of those janitor machine that rotate and buff for the
wood floor and then the best thing we've found so far for the carpet
is long and tedious and doesn't work that well but is to get down on
your hands and knees with irons and extension cords and paper towels
and then place the paper towel over the wax drop and then put the hot
iron over the paper towel and then the wet wax will soak up into the
paper towel, but it is impossible to get ALL of the wax up.

any info would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

the scratches are from "nice" shoes people wear and just from a lot of
walking. we stand up during services so there are no pews. there is
wax on the wooden floors, too, but we just use plastic scrapers to
scrape those wax droplets off. some deeper scratches on the wooden
floor are from dragging stands or tables.

scratches are also from bags being put down or anything that has metal
on it being set down on the wooden floors such as purses, etc.

You're right on both surfaces, I think. Deeper scratches won't
disappear, but a church isn't a showroom house. A little wear and
patina and polish show that it is used and cared for.
With the carpet, -- well, as the Salvation Army used to call it,
Prayer Drill, down on your knees - and iron. Newspaper is about as
good as paper towels. And then follow up with the alcohol.

Don't use the janitor's type buffing machine. You will have circular
scratch marks on the floor. You can rent upright sanding machines.
Try Home Depot or Lowe's for one.

As for the wax, hold ice cubes on the wax, to freeze it a little, and
chip most of it off while it's brittle. Save the ironing until last
or near last, because it won't come out easily after that.

I owned a carpet and upholstery cleaning company for 7 years.
Newspaper is a bad idea, the (black and colored) dyes in the print can
transfer to the carpet. Use old white [cotton] cloth diapers for the
best results. They are more absorbant and will remove the most wax.

How many scratches are there?
