Try with an online antivirus scan (free):
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

And with a trojan scanner (free online):
http://www.windowsecurity.com/trojanscan/

Let us know what happen with them, and also let them fix what they find.

Regards.

Ran both, took 4.5 hours to complete. Found many malware items.
Removed them. Still have the error.

Try the following:
Go to start --> Run --> type "msconfig" without quotes in the promted
dialog box --> Press OK button or Enter key --> the System
Configuration Utility will run --> go to the StartUp tab --> uncheck
any reference to the drmserver.exe or $sys$drmserver.exe --> reboot
and test your computer behavior --> let us know what happened.

That worked to solve that problem. Turns out I had greater problems
that than though. I have since formatted my c:\drive and re-installed
all software. Uggh. What a weekend.

Well, sometimes drastic measures are unavoidable. I hope that all your
computer problems are vanished now. If your computer is clean and
fresh now I suggest you to instal a couple of free programs that, in
addition to the antivirus and firewall, will help you on keeping it
free of pestwares that come from the Internet, remember that to be
effective these tools must be kept updated:
SpywareBlaster:
You can download it from here:

One thing is not clear to me, since you said that my last advice
helped you in fixing the original problem, can I post it in the answer
box to claim the prize?

Hi!!

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to answer this question.

In cases like this I suggest an online antivirus scan (free) as the first measure:
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Also a trojan scanner (free online) would be useful:
http://www.windowsecurity.com/trojanscan/

After the online antivirus fixes all the pestwares in your computer do
the following:
Go to start --> Run --> type "msconfig" without quotes in the promted
dialog box --> Press OK button or Enter key --> the System
Configuration Utility will run --> go to the StartUp tab --> uncheck
any reference to the drmserver.exe or $sys$drmserver.exe --> reboot
and test your computer behavior.

If your computer is now clean and fresh now I suggest you to install a
couple of free programs that, in addition to the antivirus and
firewall, will help you on keeping it free of pestwares that come from
the Internet, remember that to be effective these tools must be kept
updated:

I am really glad to know that the above procedure helped you fixing your computer.
