How do I open the case of a Dell Dimension 4100 computer?

Is it the Tower 4100 PC ? If so, it just might be a case of unscrewing
thumbscrews on the rear of one of the side panels. Just unscrew them
and slide the panel open. Even if its a bit stiff from being closed
for a few years it will open in the end.

If its the Gateway E-4100-C series - it may be tricky.

It opens easily with a thumbscrew and two squeeze tabs. if you need
