I will be travelling to Hong Kong soon and heard that it is a great
place to buy new, inexpensive electronic goods. I am looking to buy a
new cell phone and use it in China, which is where I live. I use
China Mobile, so I don't think there will be problems for
compatibility.

I would like to know the names, address, and website address of
reputable places in Hong Kong where I can buy a GSM cell phone. I'm
specificially interested in places that have Blackberry phones.

Hong Kong has a plethora of mobile phone shops so you will have no
difficulty in finding what you're looking for.

Most of the local mobile service providers in Hong Kong offer
Blackberry handsets without contract.

I would recommend:

SmarTone-Vodafone - http://www.smartone-vodafone.com.hk/jsp/english/index.jsp
3 - http://www.three.com.hk/website/pagelet/homepage/index.jsp?lang=eng

In addition, Hong Kong's major electronics store, Fortress, sells mobile phones:

Some smaller electronics shops also offer mobile phones but most of
these are parallel imports so whilst they are certainly cheaper they
normally have no warranty support.

You can find out what ever you want here

Have a look at it.

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I found a phone at the Fortress
in Hong Kong. So thank you, nproctor, for your suggestion on where to
look! The orange-colored Fortress stores were located everywhere (even
in the airport) and the staff was friendly and very knowledgeable,
which made my selection easier.

I ended up not getting a Nokia over the Blackberry, due to
not-so-stellar reviews for Blackberry 7710g that I found on Amazon.

Thanks for all the comments to this question :)

Do you guys know if I can purchase a phone in HK to be used in the
states? I am with Cingular (GSM) in the US. When purchasing a phone
in the US you MUST sign a contract and their phones are terrible!
Thanks for your great tips.

If you live in the USA its best to buy your phone there for the
warranty and later questions/service you may need. One such company
selling factory unlocked phones is www.internationalcellphone.com
They also have SIM CARDS for Hong Kong and most of the world. You can
get your telephone number before you leave the states that way.
