1. The Wall Street Journal is read by the people who run the country. 2. The Washington Post is read by people who think they run the country. 3. The New York Times is read by people who think they should run the country. 4. USA Today is read by people who think they ought to run the country but don't really understand the Washington Post. They do, however, like their statistics shown in pie charts. 5. The Los Angeles Times is read by people who wouldn't mind running the country, if they could spare the time, and if they didn't have to leave LA to do it. 6. The Boston Globe is read by people whose parents used to run the country and they did a far superior job of it, thank you very much. 7. The New York Daily News is read by people who aren't too sure who's running the country, and don't really care as long as they can get a seat on the train. 8. The New York Post is read by people who don't care who's running the country, as long as they do something really scandalous, preferably while intoxicated. 9. The San Francisco Chronicle is read by people who aren't sure there is a country or that anyone is running it; but whoever it is, they oppose all that they stand for. There are occasional exceptions: if the leaders are handicapped minority feminist atheist dwarves, who also happen to be illegal aliens from ANY country or galaxy as long as they are Democrats. 10. The Miami Herald is read by people who are running another country but need the baseball scores. 11. The National Enquirer is read by people trapped in line at the grocery store. |

The Dail Mail is read by the wives of the people who run and own the country. 4. The Daily Telegraph is read by the people who think the country should be run as it used to be run. 5. The Daily Express is read by the people who would like to read the Daily Telegraph but find it too advanced for them. 6. The Guardian is read by the people who think they should be running the country. 7. The Mirror is read by the people who think they know how the country should be run. 8. The Morning Star is read by the people who think the country should be run by another country. 9. The Daily Star is read by the people who find the Crossword in the Mirror too challenging. 10. The Sun is "read" by the people who don't give a F**K how the country is run. They simply wish to see Page Three. Regards Mongolia PS Source Joke from the Dave Allen at Large Show (Early Seventies) |

Hi Poli-guru, I meant to get back here in time to still wish you a happy unification day.:) Great idea and not a bad start, but WHO is running the country? Whoever, they should read the FAZ, but I expect that they have party clipping services that just gives them what they think they should read. Handelsblatt (and German edition Financial Times) are read by the people who own the country. Rheinischer Merkur is read by those who think Adenauer should still be running the country (and maybe some of them think he still is). Münchener Merkur is read by those who don't know that Bavaria is part of the Federal Republic (especially this weekend, the end of Oktoberfest). Taunus Zeitung and Starnberger Zeitung are read by the people who really own the country - but just to keep up with local politics and garbage collection. (For the rest of the world, these local papers serve the two areas with the greatest concentration of millionaires.) Hmm, local politics and garbage collection? Yes, that is the right pairing. Myoarin Oh, I forgot the St. Pauli Nachrichten. Mongolia's (hi!) Sun readers' (well, in the broadest sense of the word) eyes would pop. |
