When I use Google, it remembers previous search terms. So if I type a
letter, a list of suggested entries comes up in a drop down menu. How
do I clear this: their are a lot of shall we say naughty searches I
have done that I would like to be gone, forever, from Google.
Thankyou.

It would be very helpful to know which browser and operating system you are using.

Another thing that it would help to know: are you using the Google
Toolbar (a search tool that is integrated with your browser), or are
you going to the main Google site?

Hi friskyboy2,

Follow the procedures below to clear the search history of previous
Google (or any other) searches:

"In Internet Explorer 5 or higher, select "Tools" from the menu, then
"Internet Options" and then choose the "Content" tab. Next, look for
the button at the bottom that says "AutoComplete." Click on the button
which will make the AutoComplete Settings window appear. In it, click
on the "Clear Forms" button to delete all your stored form entries."

Removing a particular query in the list of past searches:

Click once in the search box and get a "drop down" box to appear,
listing all the things you've searched for in the past. Alternatively,
you can start typing a query, and you'll be shown any queries that
contain the first letters that you've typed.

"Use the arrow keys on your computer keyboard to highlight the
particular entry. Alternatively, highlight the entry using your mouse
but don't click on it. Next, once the entry has been highlighted, push
the "Delete" button on your computer keyword. The entry should
disappear."

In Internet Explorer, follow these steps to erase your browsing
history from the "history" window.

1. Make the following sequence of menu choices:

Tools -> Options -> Internet Options -> General

2. Click "Delete Files," then "OK."

3. Click "Delete Cookies," then "OK."

4. Click "Clear History," then "Yes."

Search criteria:
delete OR clear google search history

I hope this helps. If you have any questions regarding my answer
please don?t hesitate to ask before rating it.

Best regards,

Probably you can get rid of this , by using ->tools -> options, menus
in internet explorer.

Try the buttons, delete cookies, and delete files.

You probably want to try this other one , clear history also.

So now you should feel beter, data is still in your computer but now
you cant see it..

There's a tool for sale on http://www.codingcentre.com that does all
this and more. It's like $15 to buy it, but you could go grab a copy
and hit the trial button so you can erase it in a few seconds with
zero cost, then just uninstall it. I forget, but I think it does
everything from web-related to office-related to even removing that
junk when you go to start menu->run, and recent documents. Just
something to keep in mind in any case.
