Question ID: 59604
I am considering opening a company to produce and sell kitchen cabinet
doors and drawers to custom cabinet companies. I want to produce a
line of doors and drawers that will allow cabinet makers to make the
boxes themselves and then use our doors for the complete project. I
want to produce the minimum number of sizes possible, while still
allowing users to complete entire kitchens AND bathroom vanities from
my line. I need:

8 Door Sizes
4 Drawer Sizes

These sizes would need to be sufficient to complete MOST kitchens in
the most commonly accepted sizes currently available.

Brainfreeze,

If you count all kitchen shops from factories to neighborhood garages
(many of whom do excellent work, BTW), there must be thousands. You
might want to narrow your search down to higher volume producers.

Brainfreeze,

My apologies: I meant to post the above comment to your other question:

   Q. Kitchen Cabinet Makers
   https://answers.google.com/answers/main?cmd=threadview&id=59607).

The basic approach would be the same for both, though.

There are several standard size boxes for kitchen cabinets. They range
from a 9" box (sometimes 6") to 27" boxes in 3" increments. A
full-faced door would be the size of the box with other doors/drawers
being approximately 2-1/2" smaller than the box. Using these sizes you
could have any as big a cabinet as 60 inches wide. Vanity cabinets are
generally 30-1/2 inches high while kitchen cabinets are 34-1/2. Upper
kitchen cabinet doors range in size from 12" high to 42" high with a
standard height of 30" for most cabinets and 12 to 15" for over the
sink and refrigerator cabinets.
