When I was a child, I loved The Lone Ranger program on the radio and
especially loved the various theme music used. Over the years, I have
learned of 3 of the classical pieces that were used: William
Tell(Rossini), Les Preludes(Liszt) and the overture to Donna
Dianna(unknown composer). My question is what were the other pieces
used regularly, or occasionally, for this program series over the
years it was on the air. I do not know whether the same music was
used for the tv program, but perhaps it was. I did not ever watch the
tv program and have no knowlege of it. I would like to have a program
music selection listing that I could shop from for the collection of
all the theme music pieces.

TV Series Lone Ranger Music Information

?The original recordings of the THEME and Cues which were "tracked"
into episode scores for the TV series derive from recordings made in
1940 in a radio studio in Mexico City directed by conductors Daniel
Perez Castaņeda and Higinio Ruvalcaba.

(?)

These cues included a number of excerpts from various classical
warhorses like Franz Lizst's "Les Preludes" and the "Fingal's Cave
Overture" by Felix Mendelssohn; plus
cues from old B-picture Western films from Republic Studios composed
by Cy Feuer, William Lava, Karl Hajos and Alberto Colombo.?

of the Masked Man's Music" by Reginald Jones.

Book Description

?The most popular radio adventure show in history, The Lone Ranger
held an audience of millions spellbound for over two decades. Key to
its success was the music used on it-music rendered so beautifully,
chosen with such delicate precision, that for half a century listeners
have frantically searched for an answer to the question, "What was the
music used on the Lone Ranger?" This book answers that question and
many more, including, "Who performed it?" "Who recorded it?" "When?"
"Where?". Set in Detroit, New York, Hollywood, and Mexico City against
a backdrop of cliffhanging events that shaped the broadcasting
industry, the story is as great an adventure as any heard on the show
itself.?
