PlayStation 2 100 Million Consoles
XBOX 23 million consoles
Game Cube 19 million
Game Boy Advance 70 million

?Officials from Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. have announced that
cumulative worldwide shipments of the PlayStation 2 console have
reached 100 million units as of November 29th this year, breaking the
previous record in reaching this milestone, which was set by Sony's
PSone.?

?Cumulative console shipments by territory give a total of 40.65
million units in North America, 37.14 million units in Europe/other
PAL territories and 22.22 million units in Japan and other Asian
countries.?

Recent figures for lifetime sales or shipments have not recently been
updated by either Microsoft or Nintendo, but the Xbox is currently
estimated to have sold between 22.5 and 23 million consoles and the
GameCube just over 19 million. The Game Boy Advance is the only
current generation console whose sales are in anyway close to the
PlayStation 2, with approximately 70 million sold worldwide.

The infomation listed above is inaccurate and does not include any
data from handheld consoles, PC's, or from before the release of the
Playstation in 1995.

For instance, the greatest selling game of all time is Super Mario
Bros. with 40 million units and noted in the Guiness Book Of World
Records. There are numerous titles between that and the 12 million
sold mark.

Overall, I'd say the entire answer to this question is using inaccurate data.

you are partially right. the top "held" game is super mario brothers.
the top "sold" game is super mario 3. mario 1 was packaged with the
nintendo, so not every copy was sold, unlike mario three, which sold
all existing copies. and what's the deal with not including anything
before ps1? what about nintendo? sega? super nintendo? atari? i
don't get it...
