We are trying to find out who took over the accounts for CityFed Mortgage located at 30 Warden Street, Springfield, OH 45501 phone # 513-342-6700. We believe it became The Kissel Co, with an address of P.O. Box 1686, Springfield, OH 45501. The mortgage was paid off in 91, but we have no records. We just need to know what happen to these companies & their records. Thanks, Rick Martinez | |

I have been researching Kissell Company and Cityfed Mortgage too, but both appear to be out of business. One possible solution may be as suggested by a Robert J. Bruss article in 11/12/06 Los Angeles Real Estate section: "If you can't find evidence the loan was cleared from the title to your home, your next stop should be the office of the title company that insured your deed when you bought your home. Explain the problem and see if the company's records show the loan payoff. If not, then you might have to bring a quiet title action if the mortgage lender is out of business." I hope this helps. |
