Buy a hybrid car. Have you ever ogled a new Toyota Prius or Honda
Insight? Known as hybrids, these Japanese models combine a traditional
combustion engine with electric power. Along with a sleek design, they
offer high mileage (about 60 miles per gallon in the city) and low
emissions. And given their increasing coolness, the price isn't bad
either: Each has a sticker starting around $20,000.

Everyone can now choose a green electricity tariff. Buy your
electricity from a supplier that supports renewable energy sources,
such as wind power and biomass. Earlier this month Friends of the
Earth published its guide to green electricity tariffs. The four
recommended are Ecotricity 121 (Ecotricity), RSPB Energy (Scottish and
Southern Energy, Unit[e] (Unit Energy Ltd and, in Northern Ireland
only, Eco Energy (Northern Ireland electricity).

Enjoy a cup of joe with a cleaner conscience. Did you know you can
reduce waste and help wildlife while you drink coffee? If you brew it
yourself, eliminate paper filters by purchasing a reusable filter,
available for just a few dollars at natural food stores and elsewhere.
White paper filters pollute water with chlorine and other harmful
chemicals. Unbleached filters are an improvement but, over time, waste
vast amounts of paper. If you buy your coffee by the cup, bring your
own reusable cup with you. You'll save paper, reduce chlorine used to
bleach cups, and reduce your contribution to landfills. Whether you
make your own java or have it made for you, look for shade-grown
organic coffee, which preserves land for birds and avoids pesticides
and other chemicals.

"Green" has become another word for "sustainable development" which
refers to United Nations Agenda 21. There is much info on the internet
about this.

That is a good start, but only a start. You should recyle everything
- better, avoid everything you can that needs to be recyled or cannot
be. And while talking about cycling, get a bike instead of a car.
Some green German town officials have opted for a govt. bike instead
of the car their positions "justified".
Here are a couple of sites on the subject, and more to be found with a search for
"green lifestyle":

Non- Toxic Cleaning..
Lets start with the bath-room. You can sanitize by using lemons and
baking soda. Squeeze the lemons in the area needing to be cleaned
sprinkle the baking soda over the juice and let stand for 10-15
minutes. Scrub with scruber and water. You can also use this method in
the kitchen.
To clean the glass/ windows in your home even the carpet stains you
can use viniger and water. Pour 3/4 part of viniger in a spray bottle
and 1/4 part water and spray where needed, clean with newsparer or
towel.
Do not use bleach on any of your clothing better yet bye the
detergents that contain bleach, like tide with color safe bleach, this
is less toxic.
Only take organic medication that are sold over the counter. Stay away
from fast food and soda pops.
Recycle. Ride a bicycle instead of driving a car.

Non Toxic Cleaning.
I forgot one thing, when you clean with the lemons before scrubing
with the water and brush scrub with the lemons you cut/ squeezed this
will inhance the cleaning and should make srubbing easier.
