Question ID: 604811
What are the fees that the Associated Press and Reuters would charge a
website (an online-only publisher, with no paper publication) for
permission to use syndicated AP/Reuters news articles?

I'm looking for specific, numerical answers.

Certain details to be considered:
-Cost of articles by category
-Cost per website content the syndicated content is used on
-Do fees depend on traffic?

Hi,

I've contacted both companies for you and look to hear back from them
by the end of the day. I'll follow up with them if that doesn't
happen.

thanks,

Hi Kadence,

I just got off the phone with Brenda Lum, who is an AP sales person.
Apparently giving a ball park figure for your question regarding their
service is simply impossible. The figures depend completely on how big
your website is, how much traffic you get, what news feeds you would
be using, what state you are in, what country you are in, and probably
what letter your last name starts with. She could not give me numbers
based on 1000 visit per day, one feed, california, for example. I do
have her contact information however, so you can get a hold of them
directly.

Since this is not what you were looking for I won't be putting it in
the answer area, but according to Brenda Lum, none of the other
researchers are going to be able to get you any figures since they are
on a per case bases.

Thank you webadept for the effort. Too bad they aren't ready to share
this info more systematically, and I appreciate your time. Cheers.
