Can you build a basement under a trailer? I have a 14x70 and would
like to put a basement under it. It has 2x6 floors and walls. I wonder
how to remove the metal frame and place it on the basement walls.

Location... City, County, and State please. There are zoning laws, and
beyond that, I remember something about trailers and becoming "fixed
to the land."

Cynthia has the first and most important questions about zoning. If
that works, I will suggest another set of questions; I will try to
guess the answers; and then comment. Why would one want to build a
basement under a trailer? A basement is a relatively expensive thing
to build, but there might be reasons. If one owned the land, and
wanted to have storage that would eventually become the foundation for
a house in Ohio, where there is some ground heave from ground
freezing, then it would make sense. Otherwise, another trailer, above
ground, would be considerably less expensive. But, given these
reservations, and given that one might want a permanent house that
would make good use of a basement and a the solid foundation it
provides, then, YES, of course one can build a foundation under a
trailer. One would dig the hole, (probably smaller than the trailer)
cast the concrete walls, then move the trailer over it. Carefully
inspect the trailer floor, there probably isn't anything that can be
removed other that the skirt, if there is one, and the axle. I
recommend that you re-think this idea unless you want a house
eventually where the trailer is. Trailers don't use foundations, that
is one of the main reasons that they are so much less expensive than
permanent structures.

The most important reason one would want a basement under a trailer is safety.
The family would be able to use the basement as a place-of-refuge in a
case of tornado. (A large (new and unused!) septic tank should be
planted beneath all trailers for such a reason. I would save lives.
But the "Maunufacured Housing Industry" doesn't want to hear about
