As a suggestion, go to the county courthouse and ask the car
registration office there if they can do it for you.

The only other suggestion is to call the local, non-emergency number
for the state highway patrol and ask them. But, the first idea should
get you what you need.

Different states have different requirements. For example, if I lived
in Maryland I could get a hard plate valid for one year with just the
bill of sale (for cars over 5 years old) then travel to the car and
drive it away. But in Rhode Island they would issue a paper tag valid
for ten days.

To get info for Pennsylvania, visit your DMV/MVA website at...

Okay, never mind-- I just went to yuor state's DOT website and it
doesn't address the issue. It is the single worst state website I have
ever visited, is poorly organized, it attacked my computer with the
SpyAxe trojan and locked up my system. Best to do as Irlandes suggests
and call or visit your local vehicle registration office. I hope they
aren't as stoooopid as the web designers.

Isn't that whomping huge numbskull Rick Santorum from Pennsylvania?

Thanks for the comments. Thanks markvmd for checking out the PA DOT
webiste - sorry about your computer. I will go to the DMV tomorrow - I
hate the thought of going there.
