Question ID: 609498
I'm trying to get a reprint of the following article:

W. Hendl: ?The Music of Peter Mennin?, Juilliard Review, i/2 (1954), 18?25
?Peter Mennin?, CBY 1964

I've tried contacting various offices at Julliard with no response,
plus I've used every available database - Proquest, Nexis Lexis, etc .
.Any other ideas?

Tony

Dear anthony634,

I have found a solution, but since I don't know whether you like my
idea, I post this not yet as an answer.

I have searched the catalog of the Library of Congress, and I found
out that they have the complete volumes of "The Juilliard Review" from
January 1954 to 1962. This would include the volume with the article
you are looking for. You could ask the competent service of the
Library of Congress to send you a photocopy of the article (provided
that there are no copyright issues).

I could provide you the full record of the "Juilliard Review" in the
Library of Congress' collection, so you can easily locate it. Would
that be useful for you? Please let me know.

Regards,
Scriptor

I think that would work - the volume with the article and asking the
competent service of the Library of Congress, Although by 'competent
service' not sure exactly who you mean. Otherwise great - Thanx,

Dear anthony634,

First, here is the catalog record for the respective volumes of "The
Juilliard Review" as archived by the Library of Congress:

LC Control Number:	58045080
Type of Material:	Serial (Periodical, Newspaper, etc.)
Brief Description:	The Juilliard review.
[New York, Juilliard School of Music]
9 v. ill., ports., music. 26 cm.
v. 1-9; Jan. 1954-62.
CALL NUMBER:	ML1 .J85
-- Request in:	Performing Arts Reading Room (Madison, LM113)

Then, here is full contact information for the Library of Congress
Photoduplication Service; for a fee, they will make duplicates of
printed materials archived by the Library:

Library of Congress
Photoduplication Service
101 Independence Avenue SE
Washington, D.C. 20540-4570

Fax: (202) 707-1771
E-mail: photoduplication@loc.gov

With the catalog record clearly identifying the items you refer to,
and with the exact volume and page numbers, it should be easy to
specify your needs when contacting the Photoduplication Service.

I hope that this will be helpful!
Best regards,
