Do Guru.com, Elance.com, its owners, or any of their subsidiaries own or license patents? If so, what are their numbers? Note: I am primarily interested on patents that protect their methodologies. I need this information because I am interested in creating a similar site. Thank you! |

I would hardly believe that they do, since the sites themselves are pretty simple and a "business concept" (matching between freelancers and customers) is not something that could be patented. |

Business method patents do exist. For more information on Business Method patents see: http://www.nolo.com/article.cfm/objectID/C2DBFF26-7097-4B7B-AE36DA00499851EE/111/277/167/ART/ AND http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business_method_patent Elance and Guru do not own patents. However there is one patent assigned to someone in Australia that may have some bearing on your site. |
