Hi pipele, Thank you for accepting my findings as an answer to your question. I'm reposting the information here for your convenience. During my research, I have found there are three movies that were considered the Pope's favorites: Ghandi, Life is Beautiful, and Schindler's List. What is the Pope's favorite movie? "According to Perhaps I Love You More: Why Millions Love Pope John II, the "Papal Trivia" section states that His Holiness' fave flicks are: Ghandi, Life is Beautiful, and Schindler's List." http://baheadrn.blogspot.com/2002_12_01_baheadrn_archive.html "The Pope opened the final year of the second millennium by dedicating it to the Heavenly Father and on January 12th, Academy Award nominee and eventual winner Roberto Benigni joined the Pope at a special Papal screening of his runaway, moving classic "Life is Beautiful" which brought tears to the eyes of this beloved Polish Pontiff as memories of his homeland and the plight of the people during World War II, especially the Jews, swelled up on his countenance. http://www.dailycatholic.org/issue/archives/1999Dec/240dec17,vol.10,no.240txt/dec17top.htm "Pope John Paul II has been especially eager to cultivate good relations with the Jews, even making an unprecedented visit to a Roman synagogue a few years ago. He has gone so far as to name Steven Spielberg's Schindler's List as one of his favorite films..." http://www.nyx.net/~jkalb/rants/sobran_jews.html THE LIGHTER SIDE OF JOHN PAUL II "The Pope's favorite movie is Gandhi, and he has seen it at least twice. And he really took delight in the Italian movie Life is Beautiful. He occasionally watches television, like the finals of football's World Cup." http://www.soulfultributes.org/spiritual_figures/pope_john_paul_ii/anecdotes Here is the Vatican Best Films List: http://www.usccb.org/fb/vaticanfilms.htm Search criteria: "best film" recommend "Pope John Paul II" "favorite film OR movie" "Pope John Paul II" "Pope's favorite film OR movie" I hope this helps.
