Question ID: 715715
I need a Mutual Fund Screener that allows one to quickly and
easily search for Fixed-Income mutual funds with the highest
Current Yield, low expense ratios, and no load. Specifically,
30-day Yield has to be one of the search or sort criteria.
I do not want to click through thousands of funds to find the
one with the highest yield.

Yahoo doesn't have it, Fidelity doesn't have it, E*Trade doesn't
have it! ETFConnect is nice but doesn't cover Mutual funds, only
Closed-End ones.

All the screeners I found do not take Yield as a search parameter
or even a sort parameter once you get the results.

I am looking for the highest-yielding Emerging Market and Junk Bond
funds, to fill a gap in my investment portfolio.

And just to make this really clear, I'm looking for Yield, not
30-day performance, lots of screeners have a sort on 30-day
performance, but that's not the same thing.

Thanks.

Hello atr,

Morningstar should do the trick for you. Try the following link:

http://screen.morningstar.com/FundSelector.html?hsection=toolcenterFdSel

On this page, I ran a screen for emerging market bonds, choosing the
following parameters:

Fund Group: Taxable Bond
Morningstar Category: Emerging Markets Bond
Load Funds: No-load funds only
Expense ratio less than or equal to: 0.50%

I left the remaining parameters as the default. The screen came up
with just two funds:

Fund Name: GMO Emerging Country Debt
Morningstar Category: Emerging Markets Bond
Morningstar Rating: *****
YTD Return %: 4.09
Expense Ratio %: 0
Total Assets ($ mil): 189

Fund Name: Standish Mellon Emerging Market
Morningstar Category: Emerging Markets Bond
Morningstar Rating: ***
YTD Return %: 1.81
Expense Ratio %: 0.36
Total Assets ($ mil): 7

Comparison against the Emerging Markets Bond Average:
YTD Return %: 2.47
Expense Ratio %: 1.4
Total Assets ($ mil): 690

Morningstar does not seem to have a junk bonds category. However, it
does have a separate category for high yield bonds.

On the same page, I ran a screen for high yield bonds, choosing the
following parameters:

Fund Group: Taxable Bond
Morningstar Category: High Yield Bond
Load Funds: No-load funds only
Expense ratio less than or equal to: 0.50%

As with the previous screen, I left the remaining parameters as the default.

This screen came up with the 13 following funds:

Fund Name Morningstar	YTD %	Expense	Total Assets
				Rating Ratio %	($ mil)
American Funds American H	**** 3.39	0.43	10,427
CMG High Yield Bond *** 1.51	0.4	176
DWS High Income Plus Prem	**** 2.67	0.5	388
PIMCO High Yield Instl **** 2.57	0.5	7,247
Standish Mellon High Yiel	*** 1.71	0.5	14
Standish Mellon Opportuni	*** 2.02	0.1	17
STI Classic Seix High Yie	*** 0.88	0.5	1,260
T. Rowe Price Instl High *** 2.33	0.5	367
Thrivent High Yield I *** 2.24	0.46	630
TIAA-CREF High-Yield Bond	*** 2.25	0.34	284

Vanguard High-Yield Corpo	** 1.68	0.12	9,075
Wells Fargo Advantage Hig	**** 2.77	0.42	323

Hope you find this useful.

Best Regards,
