Dear tonywong001, Evidence suggest that this escrow service is a scam. - On their website, they claim: "3rd Partner , located in Belgium, is audited regularly by the following entity: Belgium Department of Corporations, license #452-6833". However, there is no such department in Belgium at all. - Companies in Belgium are registered with the Banque-Carrefour des Entreprises (BCE) et Registre du commerce. They do, however, not issue 7-digit numbers, but 10-digit numbers. The online database of the BCE does not list any company of the name 3rd Partner or the like. - The domain of their website, 3rdpart.net, was not registered by a Belgian company but, allegedly, by an individual living in Morrisville, Pennsylvania. Certainly a European company would not choose this unnecessarily complicated way to register their domain; there are domain registration services in Belgium, too. However, it is common behavior of online fraudsters to register their domains using fake contact information to avoid being traced by their victims. - Also, the domain was registered only very recently, on 4 March 2006, which is more than suspicious. And it will expire already on 4 March 2007, after only one year. This is not the behaviour of a reputable company, but it's typical of online scams: The fraudsters register "disposable" domains that are simply abandoned once they are not of use any longer. - It is absolutely unlikely that a Belgian company would not offer a Dutch and a French version of their website, the languages spoken in Belgium. There are no links to versions of the website in other languages either. An actual European company would not do this. - On their website, lots of content has simply been copied and stolen from the website of an actual escrow service, Escrow.com in California (for example, they stole almost everything from this page: https://www.escrow.com/resources/escrow_license.asp) Clearly, 3rd Partner is a fraud, as described here: http://www.ic3.gov/crimeschemes.aspx#item-8 You should not do any business with them. In case you have already been scammed by them, there is not much you can do for the criminals behind this fraud are virtually anonymous and almost impossible to track down. In case you are located in the United States, you should file a complaint with the Internet Crime Complaint Center: http://www.ic3.gov/ Hope this helps! tony it will be very difficult to actually track the people down who are responsible as they will have used presumably fake details in this case or other victims real details. the person who registered the website (which is incidentally now unavailable) abompensa@aol.com will just be any name and from a free mail provider. you could try the hosts of the fake site for any further information www.xo.com abuse@xo.com you may also like to visit this site http://www.fraudaid.com/ and or this site http://www.scamvictimsunited.com/ for further help. |

cool scamalert419-ga, keep up the good work, by the way, I am filing a law suit against XO and I just want to know if you or anyone you know could forward me the actual complaint sent to XO. My lawyer tells me that it is absolutely crucial for me to collect all complaints filed against XO Communications on faked escow sites of 3rdpart.net variety. Up to my knowledge all the following sites looks identical and are all hosted on XO: next-market.net vergosol.com (complaint sent before April 14, still active) chesteram.com 3rdpart.net 3rdpart.com lectad.com compacttra.com CELSTAD.COM Mediatecha.com Mellont.com Quintecha.net bancelo.com expert-tra.com Gladursol.com Please sent all detailed complaints you filed against XO Communications regarding the above sites, if any, or any site similar to them. Go check http://forum.escrow-fraud.com and check your private message. This nonsense of XO is outrageous and need to be put to stop. Keep in touch and thank you in advance. |
