Hi!!

The answer is no, a regular USB port has four pins: two for 5V DC
power (with a tolerance of 5%) and ground, and two for data. The
maximum current available is 500mA.

You will need a DC-DC converter to raise the 5V output to 8V, I think
that at a good electronic store you can get advice on how to do that;
the following article will give you some good ideas about this:
"USB Voltage Booster: Power Supply for 9V Video Sunglasses":
http://www.seeingwithsound.com/usb_powersupply.htm

The mentioned "9V Nokia Booster for Nokia Phones" can be found at this
page (just scroll it down until you find it):
"WIRELESS PHONE CHARGERS - NOKIA":
http://www.ziplinq.com/retractable-cable-cell-nokia.html

I am not sure if the next article will be useful to you , but I am
feeling very positive today ;>) :
"Charging Batteries Using USB Power - Maxim/Dallas":
http://www.maxim-ic.com/appnotes.cfm/appnote_number/3241

Search strategy:
"usb voltage" specification
usb port voltage

I hope this helps you.
