Hello rwelsch-ga,

Here is a starter kit of links to help you explore a possible second
career in Landscape Architecture. I’ve included schools, directories
of programs, and some career guidance sites. Good luck on your search.

To find accredited programs in landscape architecture, go to
http://www.laprofession.org, a site sponsored by the Landscape
Architecture Foundation. You will be hard pressed to find rankings of
landscape architecture schools, but you will find rankings of the
colleges in general that offer those programs. The University of
Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has a very good rankings site:

You live in the Metro Area of NY? Have you checked out the New York
Botanical Gardens Landscape Design program. I went through the 2 year
program and was certified this June. It's an excellent program and if
you are not interested in going back to college for landscape
architecture, this is the way to go. You learn from people in the
business, so it's a quality education. I started my own business doing
residential design - I'm not interested in corporate design. It's up
to you what is important to you. You learn a lot more about plants
adn such in landscape design than you do in landscape architecture
also. And you can always take more classes to expand your knowledge.
Check it out.
