I recently posted my first question on GA. It was about the quote "I am no man" from LOTR. Your comment that it reminded you of MacBeth was exactally what I was thinking of, but I thought it was just another user who had responded so I cancelled the question. I then realized that researchers will post an answer as a comment if they're not sure if that's what they questioner was looking for. Could you please reanswer the question so that you can get some money for it? It had been driving me nuts for some time, and I'm happy to finally figure it out. Also, how much time do researchers spend answering questions? Is it something that you do for a couple hours when you have time to make a little extra money, or is the volume of questions sufficient to make it more of a full time thing? Just curious. Thanks |

Thank you very much for offering to compensate me for my comment to your earlier question! I posted my remarks as a comment rather than as an answer because the Macbeth/Macduff situation wasn't exactly analogous to the Éowyn/Nazgûl confrontation. Another literary wordplay that is somewhat similar comes from The Odyssey. Odysseus is imprisoned in the cave of a cyclops named Polyphemus. When asked what his name is, Odysseus says his name is "Noman." Later, after Odysseus has blinded Polyphemus, the other members of the cyclops community call into the cave asking Polyphemus "Is someone hurting you?" Polyphemus answers "Noman has hurt me." And, of course, everyone thinks he has said "No man has hurt me," so they go away thinking that everything is all right. Regarding the matter of how much time Researchers spend answering questions, that varies greatly from person to person. I suffer from a chronic illness that keeps me housebound most of the time. Google Answers is my sole source of income, and I spend most of my waking hours here, fishing for questions. This is my 958th posted answer, so it's obvious that some of the fishing leads to catching! Some Researchers visit GA only occasionally, choosing the questions that they find most interesting. The system is large enough to give us lots of latitude in such matters. Some of the very best Researchers have answered relatively few questions, but each answer is a gem. Certain Researchers' answers are typically so well-done that I seek them out and read them for entertainment (and I usually manage to learn something, too!) Best regards, pinkfreud |

stapalhead, Pinkfreud is exceedingly modest. Typically, her answers are the ones read by other researchers -as she herself described, and remarked upon [in the Researcher Community] as being of the utmost highest quality. In addition to that, nearly every post of Pink's demonstrates her enigmatic wit, and incredible humor. It's very difficult to find something penned by Pink that is routine, or uninteresting.
