Hello texas04-ga,

I?ve started researching your question and I?d like to have some more
information about what you expect as an answer. All of these companies
are very large. Some have many locations and/or subsidiaries
nationwide and/or worldwide and the types of searches you?re looking
for seem to cover almost jobs in these companies. Are you looking for
a job at these companies and hoping to identify which
recruiters/headhunters you should target? Please tell me more about
the context of your question so that I can focus my search. The more
you can tell me about your situation the more likely I will be able to
get you the information you need.

Looking forward to your clarification.

Hello again texas04-ga,,

Instead of trying to compile a list of headhunters and executive
search firms for you, I suggest that you buy The Directory Of
Executive Recruiters from Kennedy Information. They set the standard
in this arena. It?s available in print for $49.95 or electronically
for $245.00. If you need additional information about how to pursue
your job search I would be happy to help.

Good luck.

Do these publications identify what companies the search firms do searches for?

Hello again texas04-ga,

Companies tend to be somewhat secretive about which recruiters,
headhunters and executive search agencies they use. News articles and
the recruiters? web pages will sometimes publicize who are their
client companies. It would take a tremendous amount of digging to try
complete the research you?re asking for in your original question. If
the information is available, the Kennedy directories will have it.

Identifying recruiters and headhunters that work with companies in
your industry and geographic area may be a better approach for your
job search. I?ve collected some prior Google Answers questions that
address these issues. I suggest that you review them and then reframe
your question.

Best wishes for your job search.

thanks czh.

I knew of these publications and sites. I was hoping I could narrow
them down with specific names that handle the companies in question.
I've narrowed my search to these companies and am trying to identify
their specific search firms.

thanks again

Hello texas04-ga,

I am eager to help you with your job search. So far you?ve told me
that you are looking for a ?mid to high management? position in
Operations or Client Services. You?ve also narrowed the geographic
target area to New York, New Jersey and Connecticut and you?ve
identified four companies of special interest: UBS, Morgan Stanley,
Oxford Health and United Health Group. You?ve requested a list of
search firms that place candidates with these companies.

There are still some missing pieces to the puzzle to be able to
determine whether your quest for identifying search firms is
worthwhile for your search or not. Are you working currently? Search
firms are rarely interested in candidates who are not employed. Are
you a highly desirable candidate? Search firms, whether retained or
contingency, work for the company trying to fill a vacancy. They?re
only interested in candidates that might help them fill an open
position since they get paid by the employer. Unless you have such
stellar qualities that your talents are always in demand, search firms
will only be interested in you if they are currently conducting a
search for which you might be a fit. Are you already working in your
targeted industry? Search firms are rarely interested in helping a
candidate make a career switch. They?re looking for an obvious and
easy fit.

Even if I knew all the answers to the above questions I would still be
doubtful that identifying search firms working with your target
companies is the best way to spend your time and effort. This
information is usually not readily available at the executive and
higher management levels of recruiting. Both the companies filling
vacancies and the search firms working with them tend to be secretive
about their relationships. Companies are more likely to identify what
recruiting services they?re using for lower level jobs. You are most
likely to be able to get useful information about which
recruiters/head hunters/search firms are used by your target companies
through personal connections and networking. It would be easier to
investigate which search firms specialize in your industry, functional
area of expertise and geographic target areas.

Your goal is to connect with the hiring manager who has the vacancy
and with whatever intermediaries that manager is using. I would be
happy to help you with developing effective strategies to help you
accomplish this. I don?t think your question as it is currently
defined will get you what you?re looking for.

Please let me know how you want to proceed.
