Greetings Creamofcards:

Sent to prison for a 1924 assault, John Dillinger (1903-1934) was
released in 1933 to form a gang that robbed eleven banks resulting in
fifteen dead and seventeen wounded. Captured briefly in 1934, he
escaped to resume his criminal career, even undergoing plastic surgery
to alter his face and fingerprints. Deemed Public Enemy Number One,
Dillinger was betrayed by a confidante, and killed by police in 1934.
Controversy still surrounds his death as speculation suggests his
plastic surgery prevented a positive identification.

82 words

From 1933 to 1934, America was thrilled and terrorized by John
Dillinger, desperado and bank robber. His reputation grew until he was
named the country's first Public Enemy #1 and hunted by virtually
every cop in America. Operating during the Great Depression, Dillinger
became a mythic figure who struggled against authority. Killed by
police in 1934, Dillinger met his match in J. Edgar Hoover, who used
the outlaw's celebrity to burnish his own reputation and that of the
FBI.

Hi journalist-ga,

I realize now that I should have expanded my question, sorry. What I
was really looking for was for your to extract important and
interesting facts about John Dillinger from several reliable sources
and to create a 60-80 word summary from them in your own words.

You've more or less done what I asked except I need you to create one
single summary from your two edits. Sorry to be fussy.

Are you interested in doing some summaries of other 1920's gangsters?
I've got another 5 for you to do if you want. I'm also looking on
doing something similar for Wild West Outlaws: Jesse James, Butch
Cassidy and the Sun Dance Kid etc.

Creamofcards, I think you are being discerning, not fussy. :) I
misunderstood your directive when I reviewed the other answer you
referenced, and I appreciate your clarification.

I'll be happy to edit these two together however the first one, my
original synopsis, does encompass material existing in other sources.
Would it be acceptable for me to cite other sources containing the
facts in my original synopsis?

Also, I did go over 80 words (82) in my original. Do I need to
eliminate 2 words or are slight overages permissible? (I want to
provide you with exactly what you require without compromising the
text flow for your readers.)

As for further synopses, I'll be delighted to assist you in any topic
areas you request from me. :)

Best regards,
journalist-ga

Hi journalist-ga,
Thank you for your prompt reply.

1.Yes, it would be acceptable to cite other sources containing the
facts in your original synopsis.

2. Don't worry about being slightly over. This was only a rough guide.

Once you state the sources I will give you five stars and get you to do:

Bonnie and Clyde,
Machine Gun Kelly,
Al Capone,
Pretty Boy Floyd,
Baby Face Nelson

and perhaps do something similar for Wild West Outlaws
