I would like to know how to properly wear Tibetan Buddhist monk robes. I have the robes already, however I cannot figure out how the skirt part is worn or the correct way to wear the shawl. Thanks very much. |

Doesn't a lesson in the proper wearing of monastic garb come along with the training by which you earn the right to wear it? |

Good point, Tryx. I asked a friend who is a Buddhist about this, thinking that it might be considered disrespectful for those who do not walk the walk to wear the garb. Much to my surprise, my friend shrugged it off and said it didn't bother him. I don't know whether all Buddhists feel this way, however. |

From what I understand, as long as they are worn respectfully there isn't a problem. |
