There are 1000s of legitimate opportunities on the internet, but I am
not sure listing 1000s of opportunities is the answer you are looking
for.
There are 3 ways of looking at it:-
1. Find an opportunity, and then use your expertise, existing mailing
lists and website visitors to generate traffic and customers
2. Create a website based on things you know about or have a great
deal of interest in, and then explore ways to monetize your website.
3. Create your own product
Option 1
========
Look at niche marketing, search engine optimisation, Google's Adwords
etc. There is loads of information available on the internet. The
problem is that only the most knowledgeable people that take this
direction truely succeed.
If a particular offer has 50,000 people signed up as active
affiliates, probably only 500 of them make any serious money from it,
and most of those are the "Joint Venture Partners" who already have an
established customer base of "Internet Marketing Hopefuls".
You can learn a lot form reading forums and here are some good ones

Option 2
========
This option has a much higher chance of success. You are creating some
original content and providing a service that offers real value to
people. Obviously you need to be a little selective in your choice of
subject.
If you don't have a vast amount of knowledge about internet marketing,
I would highly recommend Site Build It!, a service offered by
SiteSell.
They provide a full set of tools that help you build a successful
website, and it doesn't require technical knowledge.
This link will give you a good idea of how Site Build It! can help you

Option 3
========
Create your own information product (ebook) or software and sell it
through a service like Clickbank.
You can write about something in which you are an expert, or you can
research a particular subject on websites that provide information you
can use for free, such as http://www.Wikipedia.com
There are plenty of ebook and software making tools available.
Obviously it is best to product a product that targets a niche market
that is in demand, and it helps if you have low competition in that
niche.
One of the best sources of general information for someone considering
any form of affiliate marketing or business opportunity on the
internet is "The Affiliate Masters Course" by Ken Evoy - best of all
it is totally free to download -

I hope this information proves to be helpful
