Creek County, OK -
How much are the prevailing rates are for a long term care or nursing
home room in a residential setting (local or regionally)? What is
usually paid for, ie. food, medical, etc? Any other info would be
greatly appreciated. Good tip available for great report. Thanks in
advance! |

Yes, I know that was me as well. Did you see the final comment by
another researcher? THey said the question was to complicated for one
person to answer, so I split up the question.

jkm1317-ga,
Part of the problem, I think, is that there's just not very much
published information on something that one would think would be
readily available! I've done a fair amount of searching to try and
answer your question, but there's just not a lot out there.
The closest I've come is this recent (September 2005) MetLife report:
MetLife Market Survey on Nursing Home and Home Care Costs
http://www.metlife.com/WPSAssets/41453139101127828650V1F2005%20NH%20and%20HC%20Market%20Survey.pdf
in which they conclude that, nationally:
==========
The average daily rate for
a private room in a nursing
home is $203, or
$74,095 annually.
? The average daily rate for
a semiprivate room in a
nursing home is $176, or
$64,240 annually.
? The average hourly rate
for Home Health Aides
is $19.
? The average hourly rate
for homemakers/companions
is $17.
==========
Costs are given for specific areas in OK, including:
............Semiprivate............Private........
..........High..Low..Avg......High...Low...Avg....
Tulsa OK $120 $90 $107..... $190 $103 $146
As you can see, Tulsa is well below the national average for these costs.
You might want to contact MetLife or your own insurance company to see
what they can provide by way of more detailed information.
Let me know if that helps at all.

Maybe if we change the area from Sapulpa, Creek County, OK to the
larger area of Tulsa, OK. I don't know if this makes it any better.
Please let me know.
Thanks again!
