Why did i3Mobile and inetnow go out of business?

Hello wrytry-ga,

I?ve found solid information about what happened to i3Mobile and I
have some evidence about the end of iNetNow. However, I?m not sure
what information you expect as an answer your question about WHY these
companies could not stay in business as providers of human search
services.

I?m reluctant to answer this question because I see that you?ve posted
several other questions asking about virtual personal assistants and
the voice portal industry. I?m particularly concerned that you gave a
one star rating on one of your questions without first asking for
clarification and you closed the others without waiting for an answer.

At this point I wonder if you are really needing information about the
two companies in your current question or if you?re trying to find out
about the viability of concierge type virtual assistance or human
search services by phone. My preliminary research shows that several
of these voice portal/virtual assistant services were started at the
height of the dot com boom but they did not have a viable business
model and failed. Nevertheless, the quest for providing mobile
concierge services and interactive voice portals goes on.

So, will the somewhat limited information about the disappearance of
the two companies in your question meet your needs?

I am looking to start up a business that is very similar to what
www.inetnow.com offered.  I am particularly interested in why they
went out of business as well as i3Mobile (Pronto).
