?How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood??

?About 700 pounds. Compared to beavers, groundhogs/woodchucks are not
adept at moving timber, although some will chew wood. (At Cornell,
woodchucks that gnaw their wooden nest boxes are given scraps of
2-by-4 lumber.) A wildlife biologist once measured the inside volume
of a typical woodchuck burrow and estimated that -- if wood filled the
hole instead of dirt -- the industrious animal would have chucked
about 700 pounds' worth.?

I though that this tongue twister was worded as follows

"How much wood would a woodchuck chuck, if a woodchuck would chuck wood"

Kind regards

I just spent the last 20 minutes chucking wood at a woodchuck (also
flinging, tossing, whipping, and winging it at him) and he hasn't
chucked ANY back. Maybe I got a defective one?

markvmd,

Maybe the first piece of wood that you chucked was right on target,
and the little guy was turned into a won't-chuck.

Don't know much about their chucking abilities but they can mow down
the zinnias an acre at a time. ( or so it seems )

a wood-chuck would chuck as much wood as a woodchuck could chuck, if a
woodchuck could chuck wood.
