I'm glad to have been able to find some fox sounds for you! I've
reposted the link below:

Here are some more foxy soundbites:

This is the search string that led me to the pages linked above:

Regarding your question about the kinds of skills that Google Answers
Researchers have, we are not all librarians (although some are). There
are Google Answers Researchers from a wide variety of professions,
including (but not limited to) veterinarians, medical doctors,
teachers, attorneys, writers, and at least one professional chef! What
we all have in common is the ability to find information. All Google
Answers Researchers have been carefully screened and selected by
Google Answers for their ability to provide fast, accurate, courteous
responses to questions on almost any subject.

Best regards,

I never stated whether it was a European or US red fox I wanted to
hear. Maybe they sound differently? I still don't know. But the answer
was exact enough - I know now that what I heard really was a red fox.

There are many fox sounds here:

Please let me know if this would be a fully satisfactory answer.

Yes, this was very satisfactory - now I know for sure that it's a red
fox claiming it's territory that scares both me and my cat. But why do
I have to pay 2 $ to not get an answer from Google, when I get hte
answer from you in no time?? :-)

If you don't think the material I posted above is worth your $2.00,
you can cancel your question, and pay only the fifty-cent listing fee.
Or you can wait for another Google Answers Researcher to provide
something better. If you do think it's worth the $2.00, I'll be glad
to repost the link as your official answer. It's up to you. I don't
want to post an answer unless you are fully satisfied. That's why I
offered the link as a comment first.

I see --
Well, it's worth 2$ to me :-)
I'm still curious, though. How do I know what kind of skills that the
"Google Answers Researcher" has. Are you all librraians? :-)

Just curious...

What would you have required in order to give a five-star rating?

I would have required you (or someone else) to ask me whether I was
searching for the sound of a European or American red fox, or any
subspecies. However, I acknowledge the fact that this was information
I should have put forward volunteerly. Nevertheless, this Google
service is a 24/7-service, open for all the world to partake in. Here
(in Norway) it's in the middle of the night :-) and no-one thought I
was asking for a japanese red fox, right? (which I was not) My "scary
monster" is a vulpes vulpes, I can tell by the soundtrack.

Dear callas-ga,

I see that this is the first question you've posted on Google Answers.
I hope that you will come back in the future, so I'd like you to look
over these links so you can optimize your experience.

http://answers.google.com/answers/faq.html
http://answers.google.com/answers/pricing.html

As you can see, a $2 question "can be answered with a single link or a
single piece of information. Sometimes, if a researcher is personally
interested in the question's subject, they may provide a longer
answer." (BTW, the researcher gets 75% of the fee. Pink got $1.50 for
your question.)

Pinkfreud went above and beyond what you could expect at the price of
your question. Not only that, she had asked you if you were happy with
her answer before posting the Answer. If you had additional
requirements, it was up to you to specify them. Researchers are good
at answering questions but reading the customer's mind is not one of
the qualifications for the job.

I think you might also be interested to know that Pinkfreud is the
highest rated researcher of anyone with 100+ questions under their
belt. She's pushing 2000 answers with a 4.91 rating. If you want to
check a researcher's past record just click on their name. You will be
taken to a page that shows the questions they've answered. Hover your
mouse over the stars next to Average Answer Rating and you will get
the researcher's rating.

I hope that you will come back to use Google Answers. Researchers are
eager to serve your research needs.

Do European red foxes have accents? ;)

I don't see what the difference would be. Fox language is the same worldide.

My 2 cents,

Yes, Foxes do have different accents (or dialects) that vary by
region. This is true in almost all species with verbal communcation,
including birds, monkeys, frogs, etc.

This has been a very interesting experience to me - mainly as a
first-timer on Google Answers, but also because I'm a librarian
myself, working on library policies in a Norwegian governmental
authority. I would like to share this experience with other library
professionals in Norway, by refering the whole story in the library
magazine that we publish. I should like to have a further dialog with
pinkfreud-ga about this, too, if possible. The way GA works, focussing
on dialog and customer satisfaction is worth a closer study.

callas,
