How many people have broken the four minute mile by year until 2005?
Estimated numbers are fine and can be broken out by every five years
or every decade.  For instance, "between 1970 and 1980, 125 people
were recorded to have run a sub four-minute mile."  Interested in
total number estimates (amateurs and professionals), not when new
records were established.

four minutes and all performances by any runner for sub 3:50

you can just grab the list and dump it into a spreadsheet and sort by date
