I've been reading GA for a couple of days, and just randomly, I found
some cases that left me speachless in front of the monitor.

Can you, as a long time involved with GA, point me to 5 awesome,
brilliant, funny, unexpected, imposible, unforgetable Google Answers?

Dear Singing Banzo,

Thank you for letting me post this answer.

As you said, so many good answers to choose from. I posted some below
and I will copy-paste my answer:
"Before I get to my own suggestions of great answers, may I point you
to Pinkfreud's answer just a couple of days ago:
GA Questions

Also:
Stragest GA Question Ever
<http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=756611>

And the blog also features Google Amswers
http://googlequestions.blogspot.com/

If I may, I will start with mysteries, which a favourite topic of mine.

A favourite asked (and commentator) asks many of these:
http://answers.google.com/answers/search?q=%22asked+by+probonopublico%22+%22spy+OR+spying+OR+spies+OR+fascist%22&qtype=answered&btnG=Google+Search

And these:
http://answers.google.com/answers/search?q=%22asked+by+probonopublico%22+%22Kurt+Jahnke%22&qtype=answered&btnG=Google+Search

Just for example:
Colonel Karl Buchs, German Spymaster WW2: Was He For Real?
http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=318630
By Scriptor

There are less obvious mysteries. For example, Chromedome's answer
about a forgotten Victorian painter:
Bio of E. J. Harrington, Victorian Painter
http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=2672

And if I may, although not in the same league, my answer featured here:
Coroner's report or death certificate: cause of death of William Sebek in 1942
http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=702346

We have, by the way, some great historians out there - Scriptor was
already mentioned, he really helps some people to shape the lives in
the Middle Ages (http://answers.google.com/answers/search?q=%22Asked+by%3A+archae0pteryx%22+%22france+OR+belgium+OR+medieval+OR+ages%22+&qtype=all&btnG=Google+Search)
, or the Russian exile scene in 1920s Paris
(http://answers.google.com/answers/search?q=%22asked+by%3A+gaucho34%22+%22paris+OR+russian%22&qtype=all&btnG=Google+Search).

These are not the only authors getting help here:
Murder Mystery Electrocution
<http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=743893>

There are other weird/interesting questions out there:

From Space:
Who 'invented' aliens?
<http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=374621>

How Do Astronauts See The Earth?
<http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=775475>

And from this cold matter, to another burning (or should I say,
defrosting?) question:

What Color is Penguin Poop?
<http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=240878>

Which brings me to a saga about public toilets around the world:
Starting here:
Whatever happened to pay toilets?
http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=497968
And completed here: http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=511929
and here: http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=511974

And so it won't stink of egoism and self-promotion, I'd like to salute
this joint effort:

And if you want to call a GAR-girl, all you have to do is to whistle,
you know how to whistle, don't you? Just put your lips together and
blow:

I am glad this answers your question, but if you need any
clarifications, feel free to ask.

pfffffff ffzzzzzfff. No way, I'll keep reading.

Thank you for the answer and thanks to all for the links in the

naive question. :P

Each researcher has quite a different personality. Here you can
choose the best that each researcher thought they'd done by mid-2003:

This is a great place to browse one person's idea of our best:

It's not updated very frequently, but there are some great answers here.

Also, you can see our Researcher Blog here:

I'm counting on subjectivity, notice I don't ask for "THE TOP 5...".
:) I still hope some GAR find fun in answering this.

Thank you for the links!

Undoubtedly Question ID: 778660 is THE most awesome: the undisputed
champion of all questions for the very good reason that ...

It proves that Elvis is alive and well!

Great to see Omni back from the wilds of Oregon.

Tell me, Omni, did you get lost, yet again?

Bryan --

Not lost Bryan, though I'm considering going into hiding to escape
campaign advertising for the next several days. I'm here answering
questions at least through the holidays!

Singingbanzo: you may encounter some resistance to answering from
researchers simply due to modesty -- and the desire not to exclude
some really good work by chance. Though I might be tempted to renew
"The Best of Google Answers" because there are three additional years
of quality Answers.

Best regards,

O.

Hi Again Omni

I have never, never heard of any GAR having been accused of modesty.

Nor did I find any such trace in Q 204301 that you referred to.

Go on ....

Show us just ONE example!

I agree, we're not a modest bunch singularly or combined... perhaps
Omni means ...prudently reticent?

Well, this question and the comments weren't so awesome in content,
but quantity makes up for that. From the more playful days of G-A:

Ah yes ... 161982 ...

That was in the PM Age (the Pre-Myoarin Age) ...

And if the Mighty Myo had been tuned in then, the number of comments
would have gone way through the stratosphere.

So sorry, Myo, but all the tickets have been sold and, even with all
your dough, you will have to get in the queue for returns.

Which disproves the saying that Money Can Buy Anything.

Yes, I enjoyed reading the answers suggested by Pinkfreud, and I was
about to thank her for answering my question while saving my 2 bucks.
:) But now you got me, please could you post your answer as it?
